Health & Medical Transitions
You're Not Alone in This Journey
Receiving a health diagnosis, facing hormonal changes, or watching a loved one struggle with illness can feel overwhelming and isolating. The emotional impact of health challenges often goes unaddressed, yet it's just as important as the medical treatment and/or lifestyle changes themselves.
How We Can Help…
Adjustment to Illness & Health Challenges
Learning to live with a chronic condition, processing a new diagnosis, or managing the emotional aftermath of a health crisis requires more than medical care alone. We help you develop coping strategies, process complex emotions, and find meaning and hope within your health journey.
Menopause & Hormonal Transitions
The physical and emotional changes of primary ovarian insufficiency, early menopause, surgical or medically induced menopause, perimenopause, or menopause can feel confusing and overwhelming. Beyond hot flashes and sleep disruption, many experience anxiety, mood changes, and identity shifts. Our approach addresses both the psychological and practical aspects of this transition.
1:1 Personalized Therapy - Individual support for those who will enter or are actively navigating this experience, as well as partners seeking to better understand and support their loved ones. There are also times where a partner might join a few sessions to better understand or offer collateral information to support their partner’s process. When this is desired we would take steps to ensure confidentiality.
Small Group Sessions - Intimate groups of up to 10 participants to build community, share experiences, and learn together in a supportive environment. Note: This group would be psychoeducational in nature, not group therapy, and confidentiality would be a mutually agreed upon part of this process.
Custom Solutions - Have other needs related to support? Feel free to reach out to discuss how I can help
For those who would rather not be in therapy for this aspect of their lives, we also have an MPowered health coaching program that is separate from this therapy practice.
Caregiver Support
Caring for a loved one with illness or disability can be viewed as both a privilege and a big responsibility. Caregiver fatigue, guilt, grief for the person your loved one used to be, and neglecting your own needs are common struggles. We provide strategies for sustainable caregiving while maintaining your own emotional and physical health.
Healthcare Provider Stress & Burnout
As a healthcare professional, you've dedicated your life to caring for others, but who cares for you? The emotional weight of patient care, workplace pressures, moral distress, and the recent pandemic have left many providers depleted. We understand the unique challenges you face and offer specialized support to help you reconnect with your purpose and restore your well-being.
What to Expect…
Our approach is grounded in evidence-based practices while honoring your individual experience. We'll work together to understand how your health challenges intersect with your relationships, career, and life goals. Through collaboration, we'll develop practical strategies for managing symptoms and working through emotions. We’'ll also work to facilitate compassion and patience with yourself for whatever lies ahead.
